Hello!
It’s launch day, and we are so glad you are here! Kindred + Co. has been stirring in me for a long time. And honestly, it feels so freeing that today I get to get it out! The truth is, I have started a lot of things. I dabbled in calligraphy, I have done wedding photography, I fumbled my way through Monday night pottery classes, and the list goes on and on (and on.) Recently, I have been feeling fearful of launching another thing, another project. I constantly let fear creep in and have to fight against that voice that tells me people are going to roll their eyes when Hannah starts one more thing! But all those things I have started, dabbled in, quit, didn’t like, liked, many of them brought me to this point. I haven’t been this excited to start something new in a long time, and I think that is because I am not doing it alone. I put this quote on my mantle the last few weeks to remind myself of this simple truth:
Kindred + Co. is a brave adoption community, sharing stories that show the beauty and the brokenness of adoption. I know it’s not going to be perfect (actually, it will probably be messy, and I am sure you have already caught three grammatical errors on the site or on this blog post alone!) and we are not always going to get it right, but we believe that we can learn from each other’s experiences and handle each other’s stories with care.
My husband and I always knew we wanted to grow our family first through adoption. In August of 2015 we felt like it was time to start the process (at a lovely Johnnyswim concert in Chicago). And exactly 9 months later, we flew home with our twin girls, Ezra + Olive.
The adoption process was a rollercoaster of emotion, but what we didn’t expect to find was an incredible community that helped us navigate all the unknowns. I started Kindred + Co. to give that same community to others.
We are not made to go through life alone.

I hope you find this place an encouragement, a place that you find community. Whether you are considering growing your family through adoption, if you are currently in the adoption process, if you are a birth mom or an adoptive parent, this place is for you. We truly believe that we are better together. We created this space for you; to learn, to listen, to participate, to grow.
It’s a powerful thing when we all come together – and we are glad you are here. It’s only the beginning.
To keep up with all things Kindred, make sure to follow us on Instagram, join our community on Facebook, and don’t miss a post by subscribing to our blog!

AbbyI relate to this in so many ways! Excited to see this Brave community grow- and we’d love to share our story someday, too. Love you!
HANNAHAbby – I would be honored if you would share your story with this community, even before you know the ending (is there truly ever an end??). It’s so needed. Love you lots. So thankful for you.
Lindsay ToshThank you so much for stepping out and making this project a reality! My husband and I have been on an adoption journey for over 2 years now. This time last year we had just finished 11 months of work for our Ethiopia adoption dossier & our agency closed the program. We were devastated, but still confident that God was leading us to adopt. We are now a waiting family for US domestic adoption & our family book is beginning to make its way into the hands of birth mothers. Our journey has been filled with many heart aches & dissapointments but we trust God isn’t finished writing our story yet. Excited to be a part of this adoption community where we can share our joys and struggles- a true gift! Thank you!
KrissyI’m so proud of you!
HANNAHThank you, Krissy! xo
Mary Beth MeyerThis is awesome. So needed! We are behind you! As a momma of 2 adopted princesses and one little dude due soon, I can say, I would be absolutely lost without the voices in my life who had walked this road before and helped me stay strong. So excited for this! Your girls are darling.
HANNAHThank you so much Mary Beth! Glad you are here!
